People's attitudes about nature and spending time outside here in Copenhagen is so incredible. Honestly, it's making me wish that people in the U.S acted more like people here do. Walking around and seeing groups of young Danes sitting on the park grass and just enjoying each other's company was a really refreshing sight. What I really liked is that groups of guys here don't have any issue having a picnic with each other. I don't know if this is a generalization but I don't know any groups of ONLY boys who would dare to be seen together picnicking on a park lawn in the U.S. I just thought that was very admirable.
Another thing I noticed while having dinner is that Danes LOVE their alcohol (I knew this already but I didn't know the extent). A group of 8 girls were sat on the lawn each with their very own full bottle of wine. Looking around I saw that this is pretty much the case with everyone else. No one shares, everyone just gets their own huge bottle. Other than the excessive wine and vodka drinking, it was a really calm environment. People were playing soccer and some game Danes play where you throw wooden pegs at wooden blocks and try to knock them over. Some people brought their own speakers and were playing music. It was nice to see that nobody seemed to care what other people were doing. Everyone was having their own good time.
My roommate and I found a nice patch in the sun between two groups friends and we set up camp. We prepared a delicious salad, PB&J's, fruit, small cakes called Happy Happies (haha what..... ) and chocolate milk.
**They also had a beautiful garden where I spend quite a bit of time taking photos
